4th & 5th April - A Thankful day in Norway

Today is my last day with Jorgen's family in Finnmark - Norway

Maria invited me to make some glass's art for fun

She knew I like Husky very much, printed me a husky photo for the glass painting used

As per agreed before, I teach them the soy-sauce chicken today and I made them the Coke Chicken instead

Onion omelette as usual and abalone sauce for mixed vegetables which all dishes I like the most

After dinner, Jorgen brought me to his friend who is the Husky sledder around the area

NOK 350 for 1.5 hours is really a good price

As most of the Husky sledding will cost NOK 500 for half an hour to the longest 1 hour only

Huskies just knew when stranger comes to them, they will have a chance for a walk

Husky love to run

Live for run

Siberian husky can run for 8 - 12 hours a day without eating any meal

When they thirsty, they just eat the snow

They even trained to poop during a run, I saw it >.<

Alaska husky did almost the same job but they can run double faster than a Siberian husky can did

But they can only run for 8 hours if double speed compare with Siberian husky

Siberian husky from Russia and Alaska husky from Alaska of cause ^o^

Husky is friendly to human

Sledding husky are different with the normal dog we have at home

They are obey to the leader rather to the people who raise them

In order to make them run in line, keep them in the position, the dog leader is lead in front of the team

Husky are so strong with their leg muscles

My sled is dragging by 8 huskies and the speed they go is about 40 - 50km/hr

Laban like human more than others

They arrange him to take the rope near with the sled (with people) because he will run faster if someone sit behind of him

Maybe he would like to perform I guess

This husky have a pair of eyes that I will never forget

Robert! He have a dark blue eye and another light blue eye

Mocca, she give me a kiss when I asked for a photo with her

Niehku, she is just too scared with people who close to her

But she is a good teacher in the team who always teach the new husky (which run beside her) how to run

I watched how she actually teaching during the run ^o^ She barked to the side runner

Aisha, she is so beautiful is it? Here she's the leader of my sled

Okta have a fierce look but he is so gentle actually

So never judge any one with their appearance

There is one more I need to tell

I once lost my bag after we take the ride home

It just terrified me as my passport, all cash, all credit cards are in the bag

I thought I should left it in the house instead of bringing it to the ride but they said it's ok to have it with me on the ride... And now, I lost it~

At that moment I think the huskies sense my sadness and they all just silent

The sky start snowing and I can't even felt the cold as I'm too tense in looking for my bag, 

and it just no way I can find it

Tears are just can't come out as I knew it wouldn't make a little help

Robert stand beside me howling in sudden

The others never reply, left the single howl flied over the sky to the lonely snow field~

Chel said he can felt my sad... That's why he howled

When I totally gave up on searching and stood there just looking at the snowing sky

Chel, my husky pilot (a young English girl) start to form a small group of dog sled ready to look for my bag all the way along the track we had visited before

And finally, she returned with my bag

Happiness just throwing out from my tearing eyes

And I felt 'Thank you' are not enough for me to show my thankful to her and those huskies

What more can I do?

Jorgen had checked for me that the only bus can bring me to Finland (Rovaniemi) is depart from Tana at 3.30am 0.0

It's early morning, just about the sun rise

Jorgen is just so kind to me

He slept on the sofa and pay attention to the clock, and I even told him that he can take his deep sleep as I will wake him up when it's time

However, I stayed awake to 2.30am and felt a deep slept until he wake me up at 3am =.=

Embarrassed somehow....

The night I left, the flower just blossom at the same time

We met the storm during the way we are going to Tana for the bus

The storm are too strong and I can felt the anger of the Act of God

Snow and wind blocking the front mirror of the car until we can't even drive somehow

Jorgen asked how if we missed the bus? As we are going so slow...

I said: Then we just go home continue our sleep, not a big deal ^o^

So long we are safe

nothing is more important than that doesn't it?

Eventually, we met the bus on the way of the bus leaving Tana

Jorgen gave light signal to the bus for stopping and I just caught the bus that close~

Today is really my thankful day

My ancestor are look after me from the sky

Let's pray to our ancestor today (Ching Ming)

It's just like everything too good at this moment~

The huskies, the young English girl, and the host

I had all this in Norway~

All the days I felt good with working the washing machine

Otherwise, these will all done by hands and there's everyday this volume to wash =.=

I'm going to leave the house soon, I knew I will miss the tulips

Souvenirs I did for them

The TV rooms once used to have bread pieces on the floor and chairs

Lovely house I will miss it

Oh, that's the extra leaves I cut from the tulips which not allowed to go with the normal garbage as the natural stuff should go to the ground, stated by Norway's government law~

It's same for the used battery shall go separately from the normal garbage

I will miss Maria's voice with her piano, ukulele and the tuba

And the funny host Jorgen of cause ^.^

1st April - Tana River

I have prepare for them my hometown normal dinner dish today

The soy-sauce chicken, oyster sauce fired vegetables, fried fishes & the ABC soup 

I don't know others, but I'm definitely feel good about the dishes ^o^

Finally, they liked my soy-sauce chicken and I decided to introduce the Coke Chicken few day later ^.*

As usual, dinner finished about 4,45pm and Maria called her friend about the Sami's activity today and just realized it will start at 5pm >.< WE ARE SO LATE NOW!!!!

They would like me to attend the Sami's activity which they actually will have it every Tuesday to promote their culture to the student and public (if any), because their activity today is 'Reindeer Ride'

Jorgen would like to save time on the road and he take the frozen river road as the short cut

They used to have the frozen river road during the 8 months winter time but we are now close to spring and the river will melt soon this end of month

Finally we had arrived the place but we need to walk up to the hill for the gathering place

I had forget how long I never see a proper road

And, this is the Sami Camp

If you can Google it, they are actually the earliest people who live in North

I'm too thirsty for a cup of water with the Sami's cup

Actually, I'm not so comfortable with the animal skin on the seat

But Sami culture is linked with reindeer

They are the only legal reindeer raiser in Norway, the special clan in Norway

This is something made from the reindeer's blood and some flour...

I really can't take any blood made food

It's taste different with any food I have had before

But Yumi like it

The girl who prepared the food for us wore their Sami Traditional Costume 

Every Sami tribe have their own Sami's pattern on their collar

The twisted ring on the steel designed for high adjust to the pot they hang for cooking

In another word to say, to adjust the power of fire for cooking with hanging on higher or lower ring

The 360 degree of a Sami's camp

This reindeer haven't grow it's horns

I guess, this is the male reindeer

They have different time of changing their horns once a year

Female will be on Summer (May)

Male will be on Winter (December)

Thanks for Jørgen told me this

The reindeer that we ride on put out it's tongue

The Sami who leaded it explained this is the way reindeer sweat out 

As their fur is too thick to get sweat, just like the doggy ^o^

The fire make a lot of smoke and it will go out from the top which they had save a hole there

Here come the Brad Pitt...  No no no

The snow mobile rider who took us down hill for our vehicle

We miss the ride when we arrived just now as we are late to the part

I will prefer snow mobile than the reindeer ride, can go faster

Reindeer is belongs to the Santa Claus, don't you think so?

Feel thankful to my host Jørgen and Maria brought me here for more understand the Sami's culture

I wish the culture can sustain generation by generation

30th March - Snow BBQ

Today we are going to ski & BBQ nearby Maria working school

The firewood must be dry enough for the fire on snow 

Maria get some raw bread from her student and me try to make it hotdog bun 

The kids love to take the snow sliding with their parent on bottom

Now then I realised how hard it could be to climb up the hill  with ski plate on the foot >.<

This is my 1st ski

What do you expect?

Snow sliding is just fun

At least it's easier than skiing >.<

After the snow activity, I just fall in a deep sleep after home....

Every weekend, Jørgen & Maria will bring the kids to their grand parent house which is just 5 mins drive distance from their house

Jørgen's parent about same age with mine ^.^

They prepared the lamb chop for us the dinner

 And they have the 'cloud berry' grown in wild as the dessert tonight

It's a sour berry but they had mixed it with sugar, and for the favor, they will add some cream on top of it
Just sugar it's enough taste for me, thanks~

Their house is the highest of the area they live

It's good to view the sea & mountain from the balcony

Jørgen said the house has been rebuilt one time when he is youth

Took 1 year to rebuilt the house and they temporary lived in a rented house on below houses

I can see how love can Jørgen's parent to this house

The sea is begin melting to welcome the arrival of the spring

Jørgen's mother are good in Sami's cloths making

But the hat is made by wool belongs to Maria (It's a man hat for Sami people)

Maria bought it from her colleague in the school who know how to process the wool from it's original a sheep fur

Maria like me with this hat

She said the hat just fit with my face
